Yoga is fairly new to me, I have been doing it for a few years now, so I can honestly say I am no Yoga master, however I have decided to start doing Yoga classes.
Yoga is designed to promote strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation, when you begin to practice Yoga regularly you will be amazed at how quickly your body begins to shed the tightness and tension and allows energy to flow freely and bring a feel good factor to your body.
By linking movement with the subtle control of the breathing, Yoga works from within, performing the postures is not just about moving the body into correct "shape" the gentle stretches and movements, work with the breath to release musclular tension and allow your energy to flow freely. Also this will strengthen the lungs and help improve circulation.
Please do not be put of by all those videos and DVD's you seem where all the people have superfit bodies and get their legs over their heads with ease, most of these have been doing yoga for years, plus not everybody bodies has or will ever have the same flexibility. During your yoga session I will instruct you in the best ways of modifying the difficult movements, Suitable for beginners or those who are less flexible.
